Daneena Roy

I'm Daneena, a Computer Science with AI student at York seeking a placement for summer 2026 to 2027. I'm drawn to roles where I can solve real problems with technology, whether that's building systems, analysing data, or just making things work better than they did before.

My experience covers a broad range: data analysis and visualisation, application development, system deployment, automation, and machine learning when it's the right tool for the job. I enjoy working across the full problem-solving cycle, from understanding what needs fixing to building and deploying the solution. I'm particularly good at translating technical complexity into things that non-technical people can understand, probably from explaining my projects to bemused family members.

When I'm away from the keyboard, I'm usually at the piano, journaling to make sense of everything I'm learning, or exploring whatever fascinating tangent has captured my attention. I'm naturally curious about how things work, which makes me ask a lot of questions and constantly want to learn new approaches. My browser tabs are evidence of someone who can't resist a good rabbit hole.
